And on the one hand, tights are a way to add color to your wardrobe, on the other hand, they rub everything they can if they move even a millimeter. and now you are no longer a gorgeous woman, but a jumping goat who, with antics and body movements, is trying to straighten the seam
In this project, I speak of the obvious in terms of the non-obvious. The women’s clothing industry is structured to prioritize aesthetics over functionality. It’s designed to be beautiful and uncomfortable. Often, the cost of clothing and accessories is unreasonably inflated simply because it’s marketed towards women. Yet, we still encounter cuts that don’t consider female anatomy. A woman literally exists in a world of stereotypes about how she *should* look, but there’s no consideration of how she *feels*. Tights are a prime example. As a woman, I have to sift through countless brands to find the right pair — ones without hundreds of twisted seams, with foot seams designed to comfortably fit into shoes, with a gusset of the necessary size, at a reasonable price, and with durable yarn weaving. It’s such a small thing that shouldn’t cause so much trouble, and yet it does.
