bio

Natalia Kolenteyeva (Kolenteika) was born in 1982 in Khabarovsk.

Natalia Kolenteyeva (Kolenteika) started working as a commercial photographer, but it did not bring her satisfaction, so she began to explore a different approach to photography: studying art and the work of famous photographers. To start working as an art photographer, Natalia went back to school: first to a photography school, then to courses on artistic portraiture. This gave her an understanding of what kind of photographer she really is and what she wants to show through her photography.

Natalia has been photographing women’s portraits for a long time. This is how her view of women’s photography and the role of women in society developed. Gradually, portrait photoshoots began to develop into photo projects that touched on social issues. In her projects, Natalia explores women in the context of time, culture, and modern problems.

Natalia’s photo projects are filled with deep meaning and interesting research. With their visual and semantic accompaniment, the projects immerse the viewer in the theme, making them empathize.

She is also distinguished by her ability to see the unique in the ordinary. Natalia photographs familiar things in such a way that they “speak” to the viewer, telling the story of a place or its owner.

Natalia also creates collages and animation in digital format. Her collages are characterized by detail and unique elements. They reflect a view of the world through surrealism.
